*Note: Default voltage (VCore) for Tbirds is 1.70V, motherboards usually max out at 1.85V. Upping the voltage helps (I think) the cpu reach higher speeds. See this page for how to overvolt an Asus A7V133. Just a note for you sissies out there, overvolting voids your warranty, may significantly reduce the life of your processor, blah blah... grow a pair .

All the boxes have Kingston KT120 10/100 PCI NICs.
*remember I had to do the A7V voltage mod to get it up past 950MHz. I think I'm up at 2.1V Vcore?

Basically what I do is, at the end of every summer, around September, I upgrade the main computer I use and then hand-me-down the parts in that were in that box to my other computers.

I can't wait to "run into" some money, cus I have a pretty mean machine in my dome that I can't wait to put into practice...
I'm thinkin':
Dually Athlons >1.2GHz (if the 760MP chipset ever sees the light of day)
if not, probably a faster Athlon or maybe even a dual P3 box <gasp>?
Lots of RAM, at least 256MB, probably 512MB.
A nice IDE RAID stack of Hard Drives, 2 or 3, nothing spectacular, buy maybe just one or two big drives non-Raided up.
Nice video card, in the GeForce2 range

I also wouldn't mind:
A monitor upgrade for the second box, at least 19"
A 16x burner would be cool. They're only $200-ish (see the yamaha crw2100).

Interested in throwing together your own system? Don't know where to shop?
Try these:
Pricewatch - been around for years, more popular than ever, THE price search engine. Bookmark that sucker!
and
ResellerRatings - don't buy through anyone on Pricewatch unless you've dealt with them before or have checked them out on ResellerRatings

The following are online (and Costco) retailers that I have ordered from and would recommend to you without hesitation. In my opinion, they are the best of the best (except buy.com ).

General:
Buy.com - Buy.com is great, but just remember, they're just a front for a bunch of resellers - you never deal with the resellers directly, but technically, buy.com doesn't sell anything.

Costco - what? a bricks & mortar store? Sometimes costco has deals that you just can't beat online

MultiWave Direct (MWave) - a great place for Drives, Video Cards, and a lot of other stuff

NECXDirect - true-cost shipping is nice for "heavy" items like 21" monitors

Onvia - free shipping is always nice - and they ship out of Seattle, which is 90 miles from me.

CPUs:
MultiWave Direct (MWave) - sells CPUs too

Kaypro - only sells Intel CPUs, but we don't judge here...

CPU Coolers:
Coolerguys - I got my last fan from them, they were cool, and Bellevue is also only 90 miles away

Memman - I got a fan from these guys a while back, they were also cool.

Motherboards:
GamePC - Not the lowest price, but often the first to get newly released motherboards

Paragon - I've ordered a few mobos from them in my day

Memory: (be very careful with Memory dealers)
Crucial - I personally like crucial, I just don't trust generic RAM.

Mushkin - sells all kinds of RAM, and high-performance stuff too

Drives:
MultiWave Direct (MWave) - sells CPUs too

UCDweb (Universal Computer Distributing) - shipping is a little high, but I like these guys

Video Cards:

MultiWave Direct (MWave) - did I mention that they sell video cards?

Sunway Graphics - I ordered my Matrox G400 from them, they were great.

UCDweb - Also a great place to buy a video card

*Personally, I stay away from garbage like where's waldo, er... mySimon and iBuyer.net or whatever because I think that when a price search engine accepts money for listings, users no longer get unbiased results. Just me though...
